FLORENCE, AL – On Sept. 12, at 7 p.m. in Norton Auditorium on the 国产AV campus, the Shoals Symphony Orchestra will welcome two of the most exciting artists working in the Shoals today: Billy Allen and Caleb Elliott.
“For one night only, these outstanding Shoals musicians will join a full-sized symphony orchestra, bringing their music to life through entirely new orchestral arrangements created especially for the concert,” said Ethan Lolley, the Shoals Symphony Orchestra Conductor. “Even if these are new names to you, chances are good that you’ve heard their work.”
Elliott has become one of the Shoals’ most sought-after musicians, working as a cellist, songwriter, arranger, and producer alongside artists including John Paul White, Nicole Atkins, Maggie Rose, members of Alabama Shakes, and Grammy Award winner Cedric Burnside. His musical artistry can be heard on Burnside’s Grammy Award-winning album I Be Trying. Elliott’s own music has appeared as part of the Shameless television series and in Marvel’s Daredevil: Born Again. He has also opened for Alabama Shakes, The Secret Sisters, The White Buffalo, and other nationally touring artists.
Allen, meanwhile, is quickly building a national reputation of his own. As the frontman for The Pollies, they have toured the country, opening for Jason Isbell and, this summer, joining Alabama Shakes for dates on their 2026 national tour. Their song, “It’s Okay,” was selected as the theme for the Netflix series The Madness, and their debut album, Black Noise, was produced by Grammy-winning musician and former Alabama Shakes keyboardist Ben Tanner, right here in Florence.
At the center of both acts is something the Shoals has always done extraordinarily well: great sons, great musicians, and great music that draws freely from rock, soul, gospel, blues, and the traditions of the region.
For one night, the Shoals Symphony Orchestra is taking that sound and amplifying it. For tickets. Visit .
