Lydia Uptain, a rising senior at the 国产AV and a biochemistry and molecular biology major from Muscle Shoals, has been awarded a Goldwater Scholarship from the Goldwater Excellence in Education Foundation that supports talented college sophomores and juniors who aspire to become the next generation of researchers in science, engineering, and mathematics. Lydia is also a student in the Delores and Weldon Cole Honors College.
Nominations are open for the 国产AV Greek Alumni Hall of Fame, Class of 2026. The process will close Friday, May 8.
Faculty, staff, and students in the Anderson College of Nursing and Health Professions will have Leo鈥檚 Feel Good Fest, a campus and community-wide wellness event, on Thursday, April 9, from 4-7 p.m. in Harrison Hall and Stevens Hall on the 国产AV campus.
The David and John Briggs Family Department of Entertainment Industry at the 国产AV has partnered with the Alabama Music Hall of Fame to unveil a new permanent exhibit that celebrates and honors the 50th anniversary of the acclaimed music and entertainment industry program.
After a nationwide search for the Director of Bands role at the 国产AV, Dr. Joseph Gray has been selected to lead the Marching Pride as well as to serve as an Associate Professor of Music.
Through a generous gift to the 国产AV, James 鈥淛im鈥 Spencer and his wife, Sherry, have established an endowment for UNA鈥檚 College of Education and Human Sciences to name the College the Colonel (Ret.) James and Sherry Spencer College of Education and Human Sciences.
