Thomas Pratt

Thomas Pratt is currently a lecturer at the 国产AV, where he teaches classes related to Hospitality and Event Management and Culinary Arts. He holds a Master’s in Business Administration from the Citadel in South Carolina and a Bachelor of Hospitality Administration from the University of South Carolina. He is working on completing his Doctorate at Iowa State University after attending the University of South Carolina’s Doctoral program. He has published or presented studies at conferences on Tourism, Business Operations, and Consumer Behavior and its relationship to post-pandemic price inflation.

Before arriving at the 国产AV, Thomas was an Assistant Professor at Woosong University’s Endicott College of International Studies, where he taught both Master’s and Bachelor’s level courses related to Food and Beverage and Hotel Operations and Entrepreneurship and Business Strategy. This experience helped Thomas better understand the cultural uniqueness of the Asian marketplace and strengthened his understanding of international business. Thomas spent 4 years at Woosong University and had the opportunity to publish a textbook on Service Practices. He also contributed several terms to the esteemed Tourism Management and Marketing Encyclopedia. In addition, Thomas worked with other researchers to continue publishing academic studies and to mentor students as they worked to hone their research abilities.

Thomas’s previous industry experience was as a turnaround specialist. He developed a reputation for taking businesses that were struggling and revitalizing them. During this period, Thomas worked for independent restaurants, an independent online booking company, a small Inn, corporate hotels and resorts, a large convention center, and even a small public college. These experiences help Thomas provide the real-world context students crave when learning business theory. In addition to preparing students for their future careers, Thomas prides himself on assisting students to learn how to both set and accomplish their goals.
