Dhrumil Patel

Dhrumil Patel is a professor and program coordinator for the Interior Architecture and Design Program. Originally from India, he earned his Bachelor of Interior Design from the Arvindbhai Patel Institute of Environmental Design, a Master of Community Planning from Auburn University, and a Master of Fine Arts in Interior Architecture and Design from the Academy of Art University in San Francisco.

Dhrumil teaches upper-level studio and design visualization courses, fostering creativity and critical thinking in his students. With extensive experience designing residential, retail, and office spaces, he emphasizes user needs and functionality.

His research interest is sustainable development, exploring innovative design practices that minimize environmental impact. Dhrumil’s creative scholarship centers on designing medium- to large-scale commercial spaces, including sourcing materials from China and India and promoting the integration of sustainability and cultural richness in design.
